Scotland, Day 2

We had another awesome day. It didnt start out great, i had to work a couple of hours…but hey, i wasn’t in the office. We headed out toward the royal mile at about 230P. We started out at Edinburgh Castle and did the tour. Then we headed to the Scotch Whisky Experience. This is the greatest thing i have ever seen!!!! I’ll post a video below…but the tour is like Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion ride. You sit around in Whisky barrels learning how they make scotch. After that, you learn about the different regions in Scotland. Then…. you get to see over 3000+ bottles of Scotch (biggest collection in the world) and get to do some tasting. They haven’t had the official opening yet, so no pictures of the collection. Greatest. Tour. Ever.

Afterwards, we headed to the Bow Bar for a fresh pint…as we were thirsty. Nicola also had 2 bags of crisps.

After whiskey & beer, we needed some caffeine. We headed to the Elephant House. That’s where JK Rowling’s Harry Potter was born.

After our caffeine…we needed another pint. So…we headed to Frankensteins. Yep, another good beer!

After that, we needed some nourishment, and more beer. We headed to dinner at Monster Mash where we had “monster” mash potatoes, bangers (sausages), potato and leak soup…and…yes… beer.

After nourishment and beer…. we needed more beer. We headed to Sandy Bell’s and loaded up on liquid nourishment…and listened to some live folk music.

Yeah… its a very difficult lifestyle to live…but we press on. See the video below. Cheers!

We arrived in Scotland yesterday

So far everything is perfect. We got in around 1PM here, and landed to sunny weather. We took a quick taxi ride to our B&B The Victorian Townhouse and it is wonderful. Huge room and the biggest bathroom i have see in a B&B. Also, we are only a 10 minute walk from all of the attractions.

Yesterday we walked along Princess Street (the shopping area) and Nicola spent all of our $$$ =). We then walked around just to enjoy the area. I had a deep fried hamburger… just wonderful for my cholesterol. No Haggis yet…but i may just try it.

Today we started the morning off with a proper scottish fried breakfast. delicious! i’m working on an emergency situation for work before we head off to High Street (AKA the Royal Mile). I’m sure its just like High Street in Moorpark, but with Castles.

I will post pictures this evening.

Buona Pasqua a tutti

Happy Easter. Getting ready to head to the airport – off to Scotland. I’ll leave you with a Simpsons Quote:

Homer: we’re foreign exchange students from, uh, Scotland
Willie: No kidding, I’m from Scotland. What town?
Homer: Uhhh… North… Kilt… Town?
Willie: No Kidding, I’m from North Kilt Town, do you know Angus McCloud?
Homer: Wait a minute? There’s no Angus McCloud in North Kilt-town, You’re really not from Scotland at all!

Blue is the colour… Football is the game!

Today we went to see Chelsea FC take on the Bolton Wanderers. WE HAD A BLAST!!! Our seats were in the lower level, 28 rows from the pitch. At first we thought it would be a blowout, since Chelsea scored 4 goals in a row. However, Bolton scored 3 goals, and almost tied it in 4 minutes in injury time. It is truly an experience I (Luigi) will always remember. It was a must win game for Chelsea to stay within striking distance of Manchester United to win the league. Check out the game recap.

Here are some pictures of the day, as well as a video of the fans reaction to a penalty kick goal.

London

So far we have a nice start to the trip. We got to spend some time with our nephew and had a wonderful dinner with Sarah & Mark (Sarah is Nicola’s sister). After dinner we walked along the River Thames. It was a nice relaxing time!

Today we are going to breakfast, the local farmer’s market, and then a Football match (that’s soccer to you and me) – Chelsea v Bolton.

For those of you interested, while in London we are staying in a town named Twickenham. We are staying at the Marriott.

We are off to breakfast. Here is another picture of Luc. 🙂

We Made It!!!!

We landed a couple of hours ago. In the last couple of hours we checked in to the brand new London Marriott Twickenham, met our nephew (3 months old), had a pint, and are getting ready to go out!

Here is a view from our room and Nicola holding our Nephew.

Almost Here!

Just a few more days till we leave!
We got tickets to see Chelsea FC (who is ahead of Arsenal… hahaha)!
All we have to do is finish packing and get on the plane. This is our first vacation in 2 1/2 hears. It’s long overdue…and we can’t wait. Plus, we get to meet our 3 month old nephew.
